What was supposed to be a simple first meeting quickly turned into an unforgettable day. We shared incredible tacos, laughed easily, and wandered through a museum, completely unaware that we were looking at the first canvas of our love story.
For our second trip, we met in Alexandria. We ended up spending a lot of our time exploring the area's many museums, getting to know each other better. Surrounded by history and art, we realized the connection between us was growing into something lasting, beautiful, and rare.
By December, we decided we had seen enough art on walls. Craving adventure and definitely not another museum, we headed out to California for a trip to Joshua Tree, swapping exhibit halls for desert landscapes and stargazing.
We found ourselves back in Alexandria just as a major snowstorm hit. Instead of staying inside, we decided to brave the weather together. Right there in the middle of the storm, we got engaged—turning a freezing winter day into our favorite memory yet.
From the warmth of Texas to the desert stars, and through every storm in between— our next great adventure is just beginning.
